Cooking has many names and I personally would like to call it “my mom”. Cooking has been one of the many talents my mom has. She’s one of the best cook in their family which I believe she inherited from my grandma. She loves cooking that she opened up a canteen inside our business when I was a kid and made decent income out of it. She had a lot of customers because her dishes were to die for. But few years after, she had to stop, mainly because her body can’t cope up with it anymore. Few more years after, she underwent operation due to kidney stones so she was advised not do a lot of heavy work.

She’s also the very person who loves to cook for an entire party – usually birthdays, and employees’ Christmas party. But since her body cannot do much work now, she would ask help from our employees’ wives or sisters. She’s like the head chef commanding her commissaries. After which, we all gather around to celebrate the occasion.

Yes, she is my inspiration when it comes to cooking. She’s got a lot of tricks up in her sleeves that I’m dying to learn. Unfortunately for us, this coming May, she’d be gone for a month or two to visit our hometown in Zamboanga. That means I have to be in charge of the cooking around here by then. So as early as now, I need to sneak up to her and learn her “magic” in the kitchen. ;)

And I just realized that I won’t be able to spend Mother’s Day and her birthday with her. *sigh*
